Kimali is a full-spectrum doula, Certified Lactation Counselor, and Birth Assistant serving families across New York and the Tristate area.
With certifications in Mental Health First Aid, Nutrition and Health Counseling, and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, Kimali brings a depth of training that goes well beyond the delivery room. She is equipped to support families through fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and lactation — every stage, under one trusted care provider.
A Bronx native and a mother herself, Kimali believes every family deserves informed choices, quality care, and genuine respect. That belief is the foundation of everything she does at Birthing Layers.

What to Expect When You Work With Birthing Layers
- The same doula who sits with you at your first prenatal visit is the same person in the room when your baby is born.
- Your care is built around your birth setting, your health history, and your preferences.
- All guidance is evidence-based and current. Kimali draws from her advanced certifications and ongoing training to answer your questions about induction, VBAC, feeding, or postpartum recovery.
Support After Your Baby Arrives
Postpartum is a layer of its own. Kimali’s packages include postpartum visits, breastfeeding support, and newborn care guidance. As a Certified Lactation Counselor, she can help you work through feeding questions in the weeks after birth.
Add-on services include an additional postpartum visit, a lactation consultation, a virtual birth prep session, a birth plan session, and hospital bag preparation.
